From saxon-help list:

FYI, using Saxon 9.5.1.2, xsl:iterate/xsl:param without a @select produces

the error message "*** No select expression!!" with no indication of where

the error occurred.

I haven't been able to reproduce this, but I have changed the code that generates the error (which should never occur as a dynamic error) to include the line number.
