Known problems using Saxonb9 in endorsed?

Is there a summary anywhere of problems that have been encountered in attempting to move to a Saxon environment by placing the appropriate saxon jars in $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/endorsed?

It's not an approach I recommend to anyone, but I don't know of any specific problems with it.
