Stopping output escaping of space to

Hi, Does anyone know why text containing spaces and CRLF which is output to Saxon are being passed on from Saxon to the next ContentHandler as lots of &#160; and <br/>? I can understand the &#160; (although I'd like to turn it off) but the <br/> seems to imply that I'm using "html" or "xhtml" as my output method, but I've set this to "xml". This has got me really stumped - I can't even find the code where this translation might be happening. Thanks, John

Oh I so hate this bit.... sorry guys, but this was completely my fault, I'd left in some HTML formatting code. It just goes to show how important reproducable test cases are <sigh>
