HTML 5 Boolean Attributes

It looks to me like Saxon does not currently deal with the new Boolean Attributes added in HTML 5. I'm using Saxon HE 9-2-1-1. If I put in my XSL, with <xsl:output type="html"/>, the rendered HTML is (correct). However, if I put in the XSL that is what is rendered in my HTML output. pubdate is a new boolean attribute in the HTML 5 specification.

That's correct. Saxon does not yet support HTML5 serialization. As far as I can tell (I'm open to evidence to the contrary) HTML5 is not yet fully stable, in particular there still seem to be open questions as to how it will handle namespaces and embedded non-HTML5 content; therefore I think it might be premature to implement this in Saxon until the XSLT Serialization specification is updated to say how it should be done.
