Is there any particular reason that the (Windows) download for SaxonC in the command folder seems to have compiled (Linux/Mac?) executables?

Added by Martin Honnen over 1 year ago

I already noticed that in the previous release but it is the same now with 12.2, the command folder for both SaxonC HE 12.2 as well as EE has files named query, transform, validate which might be Linux or Mac executables/compiled versions of the e.g. Query.c, Transform.c and Validate.c.

I wonder why these files are in the zip download (and that way get installed in the command folder on unzipping). Is that a build error or quirk that could be fixed for the next release?

Only a minor problem but I shot myself into the foot actually trying to run transform under Windows and wondering why a secondary window popped up and closed immediately without showing me the transformation result, only to then notice that I need to run Transform.exe and not transform.

Bah. Somehow Mac compiled versions got checked into the source
repository. I can manually fix the ZIP files, I guess. And, obviously,
I’ll remove the errant binaries.

Thanks for reporting this and apologies if you reported it before and I
missed it.

Be seeing you,
