It might be useful for the transform() API to have an option to suppress event listening, for use in cases where the XSLT engine is being used in the conventional way to generate HTML (or XML), but where there are no template rules to handle user interaction events -- either because there is no user interaction involved, or because the user interaction is handled using some other Javascript framework.
