The binary (saxon8-ant.jar) of the Ant task class (AntTransform) has a reference to the SA version of Saxon (SchemaAwareTransformerFactory) and cannot run with the B version without saxon8sa.jar in the classpath.

AntTransform ignores nested XMLCatalog elements. This makes XSLT transformations with many input files very slow, because the DTD files are loaded from the Internet (for each input file again).

No further development of the AntTransform task is planned. Instead, facilities have been added that allow all Saxon options to be controlled using the standard Ant XSLT task.
