Description

If the body of an xsl:stream instruction depends on the context item, Saxon incorrectly infers that the xsl:stream instruction itself depends on the context item (which is not true, because the context item within the instruction is set by xsl:stream itself).

One consequence is that when xsl:stream forms the body of a template rule in a streaming mode, the analysis fails, concluding incorrectly that the template rule is not streamable.

A patch is being applied on the 9.5 and 9.6 branches, and a test case is being added.
