(b) The diagnostics have not been improved: we still get
XPTY0004: Required item type of result of call to collection is node(); supplied value has
item type xs:base64Binary

The problem seems to be the connection.getContenType returns as the prefix of the content-type the encoding information. We have added code to handle this and to locate each part.
