Description
With Saxon-EE 9.7.0.4, the following XQuery raises a null pointer exception:
format-time(current-time(), '[ZN]', (), (), 'a/b')
- Category set to XPath conformance
- Status changed from New to Resolved
- Assignee set to Michael Kay
- Priority changed from Low to Normal
- Applies to branch 9.7, 9.8 added

Thanks for reporting it. Patch committed on the 9.7 and 9.8 branches. The problem can occur whenever the place argument takes the form of an Olson timezone name but is not actually a known Olson name.
